Hilco Equity Partners is a private investment firm co-founded by Jeffrey B. Hecktman (Chairman, Hilco Trading Co., Inc.) and John W. Tomes in 2002 to capitalize on their respective investment experience, asset valuation expertise, and the wide reaching network of business relationships resident in The Hilco Organization.

Hilco Equity, which currently manages approximately $73 million in capital, sponsors leveraged acquisitions and growth equity investments in middle market companies in partnership with experienced management teams. The Fund has a strategic relationship with The Hilco Organization, an internationally recognized provider of asset appraisals, enterprise valuation services, asset acquisition and disposition services, and specialized asset-related financing.

Hilco Equity provides financial and operational support to middle market companies to facilitate the transition to a more appropriately capitalized, more profitable and strategically competitive enterprise.

Hilco Equity looks to identify companies that possess strong positions in attractive niche markets, but whose current financial performance or growth potential are being impacted by the need to implement operational improvements, re-structure the capital base and/or augment their management team. Additionally, Hilco Equity partners with strong, proven executives and provides them with the capital and managerial support necessary to pursue strategic acquisitions, expand operations or enter new markets.Specifically, Hilco Equity is interested in partnering with companies and management teams in the following transitional situations:
  • Under-performing Companies: Companies requiring capital and/or additional management expertise to address operating and strategic issues relating to the dynamics of a growing consolidating, mature or otherwise changing industry.
